- Satellite subscription television that is affordable to the majority of middle class Americans. Without it, I'd have been sunk yesterday for certain.
- 24-hour drugstores like our Walgreens. And a fully stocked one at that. I had to make a run, and do something I have never done before and will never do again. I left my sleeping children at home, alone, with no adult, no sitter, just 2 cats, and sped up the road to the Walgreens for more Tylenol and Motrin for the kids. I will NEVER buy just one to have 'in case' again. I'll be buying them in 4-packs...sheesh that was gut wrenching, but I couldn't call my folks at 2am, nor could I wait til morning, nor could I wake the 2 that were sleeping soundly so all 4 of us could go to the store...
- Alarm systems...ours worked without fail early this morning as I crept back in...and used the key-fob remote thingy to disarm it so I wouldn't fall over anything I may have scattered in my haste.
- time zones. Without them, BB wouldn't be leaving India for another 18 hours, as opposed to the 6 before he boards his plane for Frankfurt.
- Coffee. I think I drank a full pot trying to stay awake today...
