Fighting Jealousy

Now, this is not what you might think...I'm not talking about someone's wardrobe, car, house, body, husband, children, bank account...it's worse than that...

I'm talking about weather. You see, The Unknown Housewife just posted about how they are in the midst of their 2nd snow day...snowfall exceeds that seen over the last 15 years...pictures of she and her lovely boys frolicking in the snow...

Why am I jealous you ask?!?!?!? WELL...if you happen to live in Colorado, you are fully aware that it is currently in the 60s in most places along the Front Range...it is sunny, clear, blue skies, my entire house is thrown wide open...all the windows, doors, blinds - WIDE OPEN to allow the sunshine, fresh air, and general Spring-like weather into my domicile.

I know this is good...it means that the germy, canned air in my house can now be blown out to let in the slightly less germy air from outside. It means that I can have Captain Chaos outside on his slide today, sliding and playing in his sand box, happy as a clam (or at least an almost 3-year-old boy playing in dirt)...he's grimy, sweaty, totally enjoying himself.

I also have mixed feelings about this today...Captain Chaos woke from his nap yesterday with a "pwog in my fwoat, Mommy" a runny nose, and rosy cheeks. I practically drowned him with water and apple juice, fed him dinner, and promptly sent him back to bed around 7pm last night. He slept til 9 this morning...but I know that he needs to be outside, running around...maybe we can force this germ-fest out of his body by having him be active...get his blood flowing you know? That, and he didn't have a fever, so I don't think he's truly sick...just on the verge.

Tiny Princess, on the other hand, is fighting something for sure! She has a mild fever, and a very upset tummy right now. No other signs of teething that she normally shows...SIGH...

At least I've got the laundry about 85% finished today, the beds have been stripped and remade, the furniture has been dusted, and I'm ready to vacuum and mop when Captain Chaos goes down for his nap today.

In other news, he's excited to "go to school" with Mommy and "learn webbers" with me...we'll see how he does when we actually sit down and try teaching/learning...

Now that I've made up my mind, I'm a little unsure of myself...downright nervous in fact...I'm hoping beyond hope that I can pull this off, at least over the next 18 months. And then we'll re-evaluate my abilities and our compatibilities as teacher/student vs parent/child...wish me lots of luck!!!!
