Just a Tiny Bit of Grumping, and Then I'll Be Happy

Let me start out by saying that I do truly love my husband, and am so thankful that God's plan included having he and I be husband and wife, and now parents. I know how blessed I am to have a strong, compassionate, caring, loving, giving, hard-working husband that is an engaged participant in our children's lives.

That being said...I must now blow off some steam...

Yesterday, the entire house was gorgeous, shiny, clean, smelled good, all the laundry was caught up, the ironing done, dinner made, children happy and well-rested after their naps.

Dinner was delicious. Capt Chaos cleaned his plate twice, BB ate 2nds (unusual on his weight-loss regime, as he's normally full after one helping), Tiny Princess ate her veggies and mashed potatoes with no fuss, until there were no more. Clean up was a breeze, as it was only our plates, flatware, and the crockpot to be cleaned.

After dinner, he played with Capt Chaos while I readied Tiny Princess for bed. He came up for story and prayers, and we tucked her in. I turned my attention to Capt Chaos, and readied him for bed, and tucked him in.

I came downstairs, ready to sit and relax, watch a little television with BB, or just chat, maybe even play a board game...

However...I saw, at the bottom of my stairs, a pile of cardboard, packing peanuts, that foamy paper stuff they put between your china at the store, and a 6-foot-long piece of steel...apparently, a new accessory that BB ordered for his woodshop had arrived late yesterday and UPS didn't knock (I got 2 other packages, and think he must have delivered BB's things after I'd grabbed my boxes off the front porch), so I didn't know they were there.

No big deal, he often opens things, and then comes back after inspecting them for perfection to clean up. Makes sense...don't throw away the packaging until you know what you paid for is intact, functioning correctly, and all the pieces are there...

However...20 minutes later, after he threw it all into my living room to get it out of the way of the stairs, he announced he was going to bed, and proceeded to do just that. Leaving the wrappings on my freshly vacuumed carpet. Leaning his fence and rails (for the bandsaw) against my living room wall, propped right next to my piano.

This morning, he had to leave early (hence my crack o' dawn post) for a training session in Denver. He left about 10 minutes ago, leaving everything right where he kicked and dropped and propped it.

I have a client coming over in about 2 hours for a facial and consultation. I have 2 children, 2 cats, and one dog to care for this morning, in addition to making myself presentable (read shower, dress, and makeup). I have to take the truck over for an oil change today. I have to make something for the Moms' Group tomorrow. I actually have to make a double batch of something today, or 2 somethings, as there are only 16 of us on food for tomorrow. OY!

Now that I've blown off steam about my not-as-into-the-details-I-think-are-important-husband, I'm going to feed the pets, and then get showered and dressed.

I think Tiny Princess is awake...I can hear her talking to the butterflies on her wall, and the Tigger in her crib...

I feel much better just getting to type loudly, and fast...so I'll be happy the rest of the day, because aside from the junk in my living room, the house is still shiny clean, and I'll just light a candle until the wind dies down a bit and I can open up a window or three to let in fresh air.
