Daisypath Anniversary tickers

Happy 4th of July!

I'm not sure what my other American friends have planned, or do, to celebrate Independence Day.  Around here at least, we're celebrating with a concert in one of our oldest parks with our local symphony orchestra and chorale.  Normally, the orchestra performs the 1812 Overture complete with cannons exploding.

Since our local City Council decided to put the kabosh on our fireworks show due to fire danger, I imagine the orchestra will most likely be asked to NOT fire off the cannon...

Since ALL fireworks are illegal in our City and State really, we'll be enjoying our 4th by slathering the kids with sunscreen (or sunscream as Littlest One calls it), putting them in their swimsuits (swimsoups is better!), and letting them run amok in our yard with the sprinkler on, the wading pool filled and we'll throw food at them occasionally to keep them from eating each other and the squirrels that visit our trees.

My folks and brother are coming over for BBQ chicken, rolls, potato salad, coleslaw, fruit salad, and homemade Chocolate Custard Ice Cream (recipe here).

That's it.  Since we can't even do sparklers, I'm not sure what we'll do...it's not like Thanksgiving where there's football games on, or Bond-athons, or anything like that...

What to do?!?!?!?

seriously...
