Babies Everywhere

Lately, I feel as though EVERYONE (at least every woman) I meet is pregnant...babies are popping up all over the place, and I'm feeling a bit blue...

As you may remember, BB was adamant that 2 was "enough", and Littlest One was not in any way shape or form part of his "plan". He was a bit freaked out at first by the thought of a third child...not because of any weird "how can we love them" sort of thing - more a concern that we wouldn't be able to provide financially for them...He did adjust swiftly and welcomed our Littlest One with lots of love and joy, and continues to delight in our 3 monkeys.

I, however, would totally welcome another 1 or 6 babies into our family. Yeah, I'm that weird lady you know who had totally boring pregnancies - no heartburn, no swelling, no pre-term labor...once we got pregnant, I was that crazy glowing lady who was out working in the yard, swimming, walking, shopping, wearing 2 inch stiletto heels, and the like...

At any rate, as I watch my friends, and hear about or read about internet bloggy friends announcing new babies being added to their families...well, I get a little green with envy...

A friend of mine posted on FB the other day that the "last chance" to conceive a 2012 baby is swiftly approaching...and I actually got teary-eyed.

After BB came back from California, we had a slim chance of there being another baby in our family...and I started out last week with the feelings of fatigue, the tell-tale congestion, the weird appetite that I had with the 3 kids we do have...and I got a little bit excited.

To date, I am pretty sure we're NOT going to be welcoming any new little ones into the family...

So, please pray for me, that no matter the outcome, I'm at peace with it, and BB's at peace with it.

He's convinced we'd be bankrupt if we had another baby. I'm convinced there's someone missing from around my dinner table and have not been led to pursue fostering children in the hopes of adopting one...

In the meantime, to all those I know who are expecting (or hope to be soon!), please know that I'm praying for you and yours during the years ahead as you prepare for, welcome and grow your new family members.

Praying for peace for you & B.B. in this decision. It's not something Husband and I really had to discuss much, but there was one serious argument when he thought he was getting too old to be a "new" dad. In the end, Bitsy made her presence known before the deadline & it became a non-issue. But I completely understand the feeling that someone is missing from your family (that's exactly how I felt before Bitsy came along).

But I can say that even if you don't have any more children of your own or adopt any, that doesn't mean God doesn't have more kids for you somewhere down the line. Just ask my grandma & my mother. I have cousins & aunts & uncles we've picked up along the way and we've got Art...my parents' 4th child.
