Spring

Well, let's see...last night, we were temporarily derailed from retiring early (oh, say 9:30) by a giant thunder and lightning storm. BB was derailed for about 2 minutes...me? about an hour, watching the flashes of lightning and counting the seconds (or lack thereof) between the flashes and the crashes of thunder. It rained softly, then pelted our windows, then hailed, then softly rained, then pelted again. I went to sleep with the pounding rain on my roof...it was glorious. Until I awakened this morning, and realized that we would be having more of the same today. And I had to take all 3 kids to Church for Moms' Group and preschool. Not a big deal, except that when I pulled in, they had the closest row cordoned off with traffic cones and caution tape for some reason so we had to traipse through the parking lot. It wasn't too bad, but really, not how I wanted to start my morning.

I'm a bit sad that we didn't get our gardens going, because all the rain we've had would have been AWESOME to get things growing like mad...as it is, now I'll have to fight the weeds...ick. I think I need to bribe my brother to come over and turn over our garden boxes for me...and then we can let the kids "help" plant the seeds...that way BB won't have to do it...I can't help yet, too much muscle exertion (stupid C-section)...but I'm antsy to get it going...

My tulips are getting ready to burst open, and my daffodils are poking their heads up...my iris are starting to make an appearance, and our pampas grass is green and growing up...my strawberry plants are green and I swear I saw a flower on one of them...if only the birds will leave them alone, we might actually have enough for dessert!

Well, I'm off to do my Small Group homework (nothing like procrastinating to bring out the true intervention of the Spirit!)...
