A New Week

Well...I must say that I was totally overwhelmed by all the things I felt this burgeoning need to do over the last weeks.

I came to a realization of sorts over the weekend. Its simple. Its straightforward. It is:

Nothing will ever be complete. There will always be something that needs sorting, cleaning, purging, organizing, cooked, cleaned, washed, scrubbed, carried, schlepped, or generally assisted from point A to point B.

I have decided that this is true, and all I can do is my best to take care of the things I have charge of that I can. I will do my best to make sure my family has good food to eat, clean clothes to wear, a nice place to live, and maybe, just maybe, somewhere along the way, I'll find a routine into which I can add things like cleaning out closets, donating toys and clothes, and the like.

Today for instance I planned my menus, made my grocery list, gathered my coupons and sale papers, and hit the stores. I overspent, somehow losing track of my budget after going to 3 different stores...hopefully BB will not be too upset, as I did score some amazing deals. And over half of it was on non-grocery items, such as Pull-Ups, deodorant, toothpaste, and new underpants for Captain Chaos...After we were done with that we headed over to lunch with BB for my birthday today, where I ate way too much food, and we came home, I promptly threw the children into their beds for naps as we're going to the doctor this afternoon...

In other news, I must say to Crap Blog Detective that I am sorry if he doesn't appreciate my italics, and has to stand on his head to read my blog. I'm glad he stopped by, hope he comes back, and find something worthwhile, but at the end of the day, my blog isn't about anyone who reads it. Ironically enough, his comment came shortly after my post about reading another blog that talked about why we should blog in the first place.

And if you are reading, and wonder why I use italics so often, let me tell you. I'm Italian. We talk expressively...we communicate with our whole bodies, not just our voices. I use my hands, my face, my whole body when I talk. I can't do that in a blog, and sometimes, to emphasize a point, you just have to use something stronger than plain type. You can't use capital letters, or people think you're angry, so italics is it...even in published works, printed on the page, there are italics...

Sigh...sometimes I wonder if I'll get over this insane need to please everyone.

Alright, if you've stuck with me this long, I've totally digressed...

Just as I came up with about my writing, I've realized about my house. I can only do that which I am physically capable of doing, when I'm capable of doing it. If folks choose to judge me as lazy or less than optimal because there are things that are undone when they drop by for a visit to catch up unannounced, then that is their problem.

ta-da! Aren't I profound lately? Wow, sometimes I amaze myself...
