Some Answers to Prayers - UPDATED

First and foremost - my friend with the new baby had her "edit" done yesterday. Farmwife talked to said friend's mother and was told that things went well, and that the worst of the pain will be over the next 2 weeks. 6 weeks from today, she should be healed completely. Please pray for her and her husband, and new baby boy...the baby is having some serious tummy issues, and formula is not a good thing for him, but the Mama is having to take some hefty pain medication, and will be doing the old "pump and dump" routine to avoid drugging her infant son...pray for her husband as he takes care of the 2 of them for the next weeks as she'll be restricted from lifting, climbing stairs, and the like...basically, she's in a position where she's back to postpartum square one, with the added issues of having a baby that is no longer a newborn, and now weighs quite a bit more than he did in January on his birthday...his Daddy is needing to get back to work, so they can continue to pay their bills, and buy food and the like...no family is available to come and help, so be praying that their needs will be met during these weeks.

Secondly - It is SNOWING today, or was when I sat down to start this post...the sun is starting to peek through the clouds, but it is only 14 degrees out right now...brrrrr...

And now, on to more requests :
  • Captain Chaos woke up this morning with a really snotty nose, and a little cough. He seems to be struggling with this chronic congestion. So far, we've only had a total of 3 ear infections between our 2 children in the last almost 3 years. Pray that this is a minor sniffle due to the barometric pressure changing with the storm system moving through, and not something more serious.
  • Tiny Princess is going through this stage of screaming when she doesn't get what she wants. Pray for BB, that he'll have the ability to deal with this in a loving manner, without losing his temper. Pray for me, that I'll not lose my sanity as I deal with her screeches, and Captain's subsequent yelling and crying right back at her. (for the record, it is not so much the volume, as the number of times the yelling and screaming happens. I don't mind loud when it is happy)
  • BB is really cranky right now about something. He won't talk to me about it, and in fact, doesn't seem to realize that he's short-tempered and impatient with the slightest of trips out of his expectation of "home"
  • My Daddy is currently being prepped for eye surgery. He's having a form of PRK done to help the fact that he currently is pretty close to blind...one eye being really bad from vision issues with his lens along with some cataracts. Pray that the doctor will fix this problem with his eye, and that he'll be able to see to read, teach, and do his woodworking, as well as the basic steps of life.
  • My Mom will be taking care of my Daddy during his recovery, and while the surgeon says it will be minimal with no restrictions, I remember caring for BB after his...so pray for my Mom, that she'll be her normal loving and caring self as she loves on my Daddy during the coming days.
  • Pray for me as I begin potty training Captain Chaos in earnest...as in the no diaper, just "big boy" undies under his pants sort of training...he's got the sitting on the potty and going part of it down great! He'll go every time we sit him down...but he won't tell me that he needs to go, and so...please be praying that this will be IT...pray that we'll not have too many days of cleaning up messy spots on carpet!

*************************************************************************************
Thank you for praying! The surgeon was able to get my Daddy in earlier than expected (by almost 2 hours!), and his surgery went really well! They were so early, and Daddy was feeling so good that they had breakfast at their favorite restaurant and are now ensconced in the warmth and comfort of their home, waiting til later this afternoon, when they'll go back, and the doctor will remove the bandages etc. Right now, he can't see a blessed thing, as his other eye is practically useless (the cataracts etc, remember?), so he's in a blurry and fuzzy world of mostly light and shadow until this afternoon. Continue to pray that his eye reacted well to the surgery and that he'll be able to see with clear vision out of the "fixed" eye!

I'll pray for your mama & daddy & the rest of your clan. Thanks for praying for Inkling. I'm hoping I hear from her soon, but I'm not holding my breath. She needs her rest!

And should I mention that it's 80 at my house right now? ;)
