Frustrations

Well - here we are, middle of the week...and all my plans have been thwarted...

You see, the other day, FarmWife posted about how she had the post-company-blahs, and was struggling, knowing that she had a list of things to do, and no motivation to do them...I gave her a hard time about it, only because she thinks I'm a paragon of productivity and organization. Shhh...don't tell her I'm not, ok?!?!?!

SO...as she was posting about her motivation, or lack thereof, I was sitting here, plotting my week, all the things I wanted to get done...nothing too out of the ordinary, it included the usual laundry, cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping and bill-paying. Nothing major there, I manage to squeeze in a few chores each day, to help not drive me nuts about the state of my home. However, the list also included things like "create 2008 files, and clean out old paperwork from personal office", "organize MK office supplies and product, making sure all things are labeled, and take inventory", "insure all tax paperwork is ready to be sent to MIL by weeks end".

Well...Monday started out with the best on intentions, and then the time change caught up with me, and knocked me onto my rump for the better part of the day. I spent the day doing laundry, puttering around picking things up, and then yesterday, I had 2 vendors at my house for 2 1/2 hours EACH...5 hours of my day was spent talking with salespeople about my dream and vision regarding the product and service they provide. BB was supposed to be at work until almost 8pm last night, due to the time change and meetings with folks in Shanghai. I, erroneously, was looking forward to having time between afternoon naps, dinner and bedtime to myself, in order that I might actually be able to do something productive that wasn't a "normal" chore. Instead, he came home at 6:30, and proceeded to talk on the phone with his parents for 45 minutes while I bathed the kids and put them down for the night, then came downstairs and did the dinner dishes and folded 2 loads of laundry and put them away.

I was looking forward to being truly productive today, as I had NOTHING on my calendar...and then a friend that has the habit of talking for hours called me this morning...I answered the phone before registering the number I saw on my caller ID...and proceeded to have a 90 minute conversation with her...not a big deal, as I was able to clean up after breakfast, get the kids settled into playing nicely, and took care of the animals, changed out laundry loads, and read my mail.

HOWEVER...I am now about halfway through Tiny Princess' morning nap, and have not even opened the door to the office...GRRRRRRRRRR

SO...this afternoon, while the children sleep, I WILL:
  • Finish all the paperwork in the office
  • Reconcile our accounts
  • Pay Bills
  • Make dinner
  • vacuum the carpet in all rooms
  • sweep and mop my floors
  • clean the bathrooms
It is always amazing what I can accomplish in 2 1/2 hours while my children sleep. And then, when they awaken, we'll have some time to play before dinnertime, and they'll get to play a bit before bedtime, and then BB and I can have some time to talk about his passing things along to me without telling me how important they are.

Don't get me started...I don't want to be a mean wife today.
