It's My Party...

I hope I won't be crying, but if I do, they better darn well be tears of joy!!!

I love BB...he is so sweet and he is one of those rare men that not only listens to what I really say, he actually remembers the things I say...

Example:

My birthday is in a little less than 2 weeks (November 2nd, in case you feel like sending me something...hint hint!), and BB asked me awhile back what I wanted. I rattled off a list of things, and said "But I know we can't afford them, so there's really nothing..."

Sometime after that conversation, I mentioned something about my calendar, and how I hated the one we had (which was a gift from our niece that she got as a freebie from some fundraiser) because the squares are too small, and there's no real room to write the important th
ings like appointments and milestones, you know...and soon, I'll need room for field trips and lessons and school days off etc.

There's one that
I love, from the FlyLady (check her out at www.flylady.net). As you can see, sort of, its got a nifty message board, but each month covers that whole expanse, and the spaces are big...it has a nifty pocket to put things in, and I can put stickers or whatever on there...

Well, BB was listening and this morning, asked if I'd ordered it yet or not. I said no, but that I almost had last night, but got distracted by the kids.

He went into his office and comes out into the kitchen, tells me to close my eyes, and hold out my hands (using the cute little room you remember from childhood), and in them placed a brand new, 16-month calendar by Sandra Boynton! I love it, love it, love it!

I'm in the process of putting all the dates in there that need to be in there, so I can remember to send out birthday cards BEFORE the birthday has passed.

It has a space to keep track of appointments for up to 4 other people besides "MOM", and fun stickers...

I'm looking forward to the family dinner at the Texas Roadhouse, and am going to make a Chocolate Truffle Cake for our birthday cake...I can't wait! I might even get some gifts from my parents...but I'm not holding my breath...they're sort of freaked out about all the money they'll be spending when the family is here...Sigh...

Oooh. I love TX Roadhouse. AND Chocolate Truffle Cake. AND you've turned me on to a great calendar.

So glad that FarmWife brought us together, Kork. It's very nice to "meet" you.

What you said on my blog today has me walking on air. :-)

And happy early birthday!
