We had an awesome time in Oregon, Cousin's wedding was absolutely gorgeous, she looked like a model, and the trip to our friends' house was a blast! The days with MIL...not so much...but I shall not dwell on what I cannot change...
I'll post more details about the trip once things are caught up around here, I just wanted to say how much I missed being able to blog...who knew how quickly I'd get addicted to it?
We arrived home at 2am Sunday...yup, 2am...Thankfully, the children went right to sleep and actually slept until about 9am...we spent the day sort of acclimating and adjusting...it was nice to come home, and sleep in my own bed. I actually felt more rested after 6 hours of sleep in my own bed than I had in the 8 hours I'd gotten the night before in the bed at the in-laws' house...weird.
Today, so far, I have:
- done 4 loads of laundry
- unpacked 2 suitcases
- put away clean clothes
- dried, folded and put away said 4 loads of laundry
- swept, mopped and vacuumed the floors through the entire house
- stripped beds and re-made them
- gone grocery shopping
- made breakfast for Captain Chaos and BB
- made a batch of sourdough bread
- received a batch of Amish Friendship Bread
- made lunch
- taken care of BB (suffering from some sort of stomach bug - please pray he gets well)
- fed, bathed, and dressed the children
- fed and bathed the dog
- changed the cat litter and brushed the cats, trimmed their nails
- ironed dress shirts
- dusted every piece of furniture in my house
- scrubbed 3 bathrooms (about which I am amazed as they were SPOTLESS before we left and unused for 10 days...how did there get to be soap scum after 2 baths???)
- paid bills, balanced the checkbook, and budgeted my month of August to the penny
As it stands...I'm off to compose an email about piano lessons, and to fold more laundry...
Welcome Home Me!
