I must take a moment (or more) and rant for a bit...you see I just visited my dear FarmWife's blog and found out that one of her relatives was recently robbed. By a conman and his partner.
They apparently had been watching her house for awhile, as they knew exactly what to say to get her to let them in, and were smart enough to get her to leave the floor on which her cash was so that the other guy could come in and take it.
This makes me mad because I have met a lot of FarmWife's family, and I know they are all wonderful, caring, compassionate, and generous people, and all you have to do is ask them for help and they will do everything they can to provide it to you...so to know that one of them was taken for a fool really chaps my hide. (yes, I said chaps my hide.)
I cannot believe that people think that it is ok to do this. It doesn't matter to me whether the victims are old, young, wise, naive...what matters to me is that these people think it is alright to do it. How dare they?!?!? How dare someone think that they can just waltz into someone's home or life and take something from them? I absolutely cannot imagine what goes through the mind of someone like that...I mean, how can you sit around and spend time and energy to come up with a way to violate someone...isn't it easier to just go out and get a job?!?!?!?!? For crying out loud...
And that's not even the whole of it, by the way...what makes it worse, is that if these people had just shown up and said "We need money to fix our car so we can get to work", Aunt B would have helped them out.
People who do this are so stupid!
I will go and work out my aggression on something like weeds in my garden now...GRRRRRRRR!

When Busha & Bucka lived in Florida, people came to the house all the time saying "my car broke down, i'm out of gas, my kid needs food..." asking for money. Busha started telling them there were chores at the church that needed doing in exchange for the money. She found out REAL fast who needed money & who was panhandling.
BTW, I voted on your poll, but I really think you should present the potty to him & let it go. I showed my kids what to do (open door bathroom policy), gave them the potty, and let them do the rest themselves. Encourage him, ask him if he needs to pee, make a HUGE deal about it if he does, but don't push it. I also put a potty in the living room to remind them (since that's where we spend most of our time). GOOD LUCK!!
