Party Time...

Yet another day of cool and wet...while I love the rain, I generally prefer it to be those storms that come in raging and crashing with thunder and lightning, that are completely crazy for an hour or so, and then blow away, and the sun comes out again...

However, while those are the storms we typically get during the height of summer, the type of weather we are currently experiencing is more typical of early spring...not the end of May...UGH!

It wouldn't be so bad if the clouds would part for more than 15 minutes each day.

Again, I know we need the moisture this system is providing, but I just have such a hard time with the constant gray of the skies...no matter how light a gray it may be today. I am holding onto the hope that the weather forecast is correct and we'll be out from under this system by Friday or Saturday...especially since we are planning an outdoor BBQ for Captain Chaos' birthday celebration.

Pray for me, that I'll be motivated to get things done around the house and yard. I need to borrow my Dad's power washer and wash the chairs, tables, and Capt Chaos' wading pool, as well as pull some weeds, plant another round of carrots, radishes, onions, and replant my squash and zucchini, clean the house, plan the menu, shop for the party along with our regular grocery shopping, do the laundry and ironing, and get my basement office back in order...YIKES!

OK, so not everything on that list has to be done for this weekend, but it would be helpful to know that I have the basic things under control BEFORE Friday rolls around so that BB and I can spend some time together...

We also have a wedding to attend Saturday afternoon, so the main things have to be done before noon on Saturday. I will not run around Saturday night doing things, and then get to Church Sunday morning, only to rush home, try to get the kids down for a nap and get all the things ready for the party.

Let me say that if BB does not help, he'd better hope he can run really fast, because I will inflict bodily harm on him if he does nothing beyond mowing the grass for the party...

I have to remind myself to order balloons for the party that we'll pick up Sunday...maybe I'll order a cake, rather then bake one...any ideas on a theme?!?!?!!?
