Well, I'm asking seriously for your input...
If you had the choice, would you:
A - use disposable diapers, knowing you'd be spending anywhere from $1800 to $2300 per child from birth to potty training
B - use a diaper service, which would be comparably priced, but save a bit of money as you'd not need diaper creams as often, and your child would be out of diapers sooner
OR
C - buy a cloth diaper package with a large up front cost that is 1/3 of the above total and do diaper laundry every 3 days
We're toying with the idea, and I'm just not certain that cloth wash-them-myself is the way to go, BUT I'm not sure I like the idea of paying $16 a week for someone else to drive to my house, drop off clean, and pick up dirty diapers...
Any input is gratefully considered...

If you're planning on using one of the cloth diaper systems, I'd totally go for it. Inkling's brother & his wife use them with their kids.
I tried the original kind with BabyGirl because I'd never seen diaper wraps. My MIL (who was obsessed with cloth diapers) bought us 3 dozen (I said I wanted to "try" it....). I used them for about 2 weeks then went back to disposable. But I had to mess with pins, plastic pants, lots of leaks...it wasn't fun. And I had to wash all her clothes almost everytime she wet. I think the kind that has a separate cover would work so much better.
I'd also keep a supply of disposibles for when you're gone from home. They're easier to use when you don't have anywhere to wash out the cloth.
A Wandering Heart has a friend who owns her own cloth diaper business. http://cutietooties.com/
I'd check her out.
All of my friends used cloth diapers back in PHoenix. They all constantly had the WORST diaper rash I have ever seen. Where does the idea that they won't get diaper rash come from? Maybe they did not change them quickly enough?
