A Morning in the Life

Well, today started out as most do around here - with the best of intentions.

Even though BB is gone, I got up early (early even for me!), around 5, and hit the ground running. I wish I knew why this energy only shows up when BBs gone... At any rate, I had all my clothes sorted to pack (so I don't wear them inadvertently between now and leaving on Wednesday), and was showered and dressed and all the rest.

As I sat down to breakfast, I ran through my mental list of things left to do, and realized that there was NOTHING I could do by myself...absolutely NOTHING...all remaining things on my "Master Plan" require lifting and/or moving of items that even were I not pregnant, I couldn't do alone...and it was only 7am...even I know not to call anyone at 7am unless someone is bleeding profusely, on the way to the hospital, dying, dead, or any combination thereof. So what was I to do?!?!?!?!

I finished my breakfast leisurely, a luxury any day of the week what with animals, husband, and son all clamoring for something first thing in the morning, read the daily paper, and sat back with my cup of caffeine free tea, and decided that today, after getting Captain Chaos' clothes sorted out, and things separated as to what I need between now and Wednesday, and what goes with us, that we would do NOTHING! That's right!

After a fun-filled pre-morning nap of breakfast, bath, and then lots of playtime, I took his clothes after putting him down for his nap, and spent about 15 minutes deciding what outfits to take, and how many diapers, blah blah blah...basically, except for putting things into the suitcase, we are packed. I took a little snooze myself, gearing up for the after lunch fun.

We had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch, another bath (you'd be surprised how far a little peanut butter goes in the hands of a 16 month old!), and then we went for a walk to the park, where we played and played, and found leaves, and sticks, and looked for bugs, and watched the birds, and listened for the airplanes.

Captain Chaos is now down for his afternoon nap, and should, I hope sleep for about 2 hours.

I am taking advantage of this time to sit and do NOTHING!!! Ok, not nothing per se, but nothing taxing on my body or brain...in fact, as soon as I finish this post, I'm going to play some Tetris online...that requires me to think about patterns and things like that, so in my book it doesn't count as a realvideo game...

And after that? We're going to Grammy and Poppa's house for dinner, so they can load up on Captain Chaos time before we're gone for the week. Then I will come hom, throw the boy into bed, and myself into a nice, steamy (but not TOO steamy) hot bath and soak...then its to bed for my tired little self...

Ahhh...As soon as I come out of my bubble bath coma, I'll start another day...
