Perfect Moments.
Perfect Moments.
Thanks to Lori over at Weebles Woblog , I was reminded of the little things in life...so here we go:
Well, here we are again on Monday...and today's perfect moment came as I was fighting Captain Chaos...odd, you might think, but let me explain.
Right now, Captain Chaos is thrilled when we go to Target, as we always go by the bakery and he gets a cookie. Last night, I explained that this morning, after we ate our breakfast, we would be going to return some items to Kohl's, and then to Target, and then we'd get lunch, and come home. He was excited about chocolate chip cookies...
Fast forward to this morning...BB and I worked out to the Wii Fit (oh how I HEART my Wii Fit!), had breakfast, and got ready for our respective days and all that entails. I went to get the kids out of bed around 8ish, and Captain Chaos was excited to begin his day...until I made him get into the tub for his bath. It only got worse from there...I'll skip the details, but it ended up with him in the Quiet Chair while I gave Tiny Princess her breakfast and put all necessary items in the truck. He was retrieved, fed, and shoed (wearing his "snazzy shoes" no less), and waiting in the family room as I did a few last minute things, when I remembered that BB wanted me to start teaching Captain Chaos in earnest this week (which I shall post about shortly), and I had asked him to make some copies of some workbook pages that we have so we can use them a multitude of times. I gathered the books, and Captain Chaos saw me, and got excited, and actually carried the Phonics workbook around with him for the rest of the morning, and would only relinquish it to BB upon BB's fervent promise that it would come home with him at the end of the day. I was overjoyed that my crazy whirling dervish of a boy would get so excited about a book!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!
And, for several quiet, Perfect Moments, he was my book-boy, ready to soak up knowledge...

Oh, this IS a perfect moment. How wonderful to pass on your love of books and reading to a receptive child.
Hope the trip to Target, along with said chocolate chip cookie, gave Captain Chaos his own perfect moment!
