Why I May Just Not Get a Darn Thing Done Today

Friday night, we were all stressed out, as you've read below, about truck and washing machine and dryer and laundry, and kids, and, and, and...you get the idea.

Saturday dawned with us waiting anxiously to hear how the road tests had done with our truck. Would we have only a $200 repair, or would we have to spend another $600 for the "real" problem???

I was also waiting to hear from the potential buyer for our washer and dryer...knowing you were buying a used and slightly broken dryer, would you go through with it??? OY!

By lunchtime, I was a mess...I had wanted to get all of our clothes, sheets, and towels washed and dried by lunchtime, but BB had other ideas and wanted to go in search of a Wii Fit. So, we packed up the kids, headed to Target and did some shopping. While there, we got the call about the truck...it was the $200 repair, that was it, and we could come get it whenever we were ready! Praise God! He is definitely good...and so far, the truck is doing just fine!

I sent BB through the Carl's Jr drive through on his way home, while I headed home with the kids, and unloaded the groceries and cleaned the cat's dish off the top of my dryer.

We had just sat down and taken about 3 bites of lunch when the phone rang. It was washing machine buyer. She was on her way, and was running 30 minutes early!

Thank goodness that I had all the things dried that I'd washed!!!!! I hurriedly pulled them out of the dryer, and BB unhooked them so we could load them up in her trailer.

She didn't ask to hear them or see them work...she was just ready to load them up, and get them back to her house, hooked up so she could run them, and not have to go to a laundromat again. Ever. She was so grateful, and so happy that she got all teary...it was enough to make me realize that I am so incredibly blessed...

We got to spend Friday night playing Wii with our neighbors, and, after the machines were away, BB and I played while the kids napped...and while they ate dinner, and while we ate dinner. And then the neighbors came over again, and we played until Mr & Mrs left at 9. Their 9 yo son stayed and played until 11. BB and I played until midnight.

We got up, did Church, and headed to PF Chang's for my daddy's birthday (which is actually today), came home and turned my mother into a Wii junkie...dad was already one from a couple weeks ago when they were here...we Wii'd until around 4, when they left. We ate leftovers, played some more, put the kids to bed, and then watched a CSI: Weekends episode of NY and tumbled into bed around 9:30, exhausted, but happy.

We awoke to about 2 inches of snow, and that eery glow to the sky that only happens when it snows. BB is off to work, the kids took their time waking up, I made a batch of sourdough bread, and have a roast in the crockpot (cooking from frozen so it'll take all day to cook).

I have no way to do wash at my house until the 26th. I've mixed emotions about this, but we'll see how I do...it may just be good for my OCD tendencies to not be able to do laundry at will, but have to wait until I can run it over to my mom's or the neighbors.

The diapers will be most interesting.

I am happy, but exhausted. I am not motivated to do anything, especially knowing that it is cold outside, not going to warm up too much, I have a clean house, fed animals, and no way to do anymore laundry.

I need to make a trip to Costco desperately, so I can't even do more than the necessary baking.

I guess I'll have to hang out, play with my kids, and play some more Wii...maybe I can go Pro in something other than bowling...hmmmmm...guess I'd better go stretch!
