Much Needed Update...with no pictures quite yet

Here we go:
  1. Thursday was spent at my mother's house, as you've no doubt read
  2. Friday was spent doing the happy dance because I called the store and got my washer and dryer to be delivered 8 days ahead of schedule, and cleaning the downstairs, making dip, etc etc ad nauseum...see below for more details on my closet OCD. ( giggle )
  3. Saturday morning was spent in a frenzy of cutting celery, peppers, cantaloupe, pineapple, apples, peeling oranges, preparing platters of food for people to eat during Tiny Princess' 1st birthday party.
  4. Saturday afternoon was spent taking pictures, talking with neighbors, holding babies, kissing owies incurred from breaking rules, and cleaning up after the party
  5. Saturday night was spent playing Wii games with BB. I think we played for 4 hours, but I'd have to go look at my little message board to tell you for certain the time.
  6. Sunday morning dawned, we went to breakfast and then headed to Best Buy to find a Wii Fit. They had none, so I called Super Target. They had them, so we zipped over there, nabbed one, a new game or 3, some special controllers, and headed home.
  7. We had lunch, put the kids down for naps, opened the door to the deliverymen/installers, and within 45 minutes had a brand-spankin' new washer and dryer running in the laundry room.
I've since :
  • washed 5 loads of laundry, dried, folded and put away
  • stripped the beds
  • cleaned the bathrooms
  • sorted toys
  • written most of the thank-you notes for Tiny Princess' birthday gifts (that girl made out like a bandit I tell ya'!)
  • checked my Facebook and found several folks that warm my heart to know are still out there, and that they were looking for me!
  • made and eaten lunch
  • changed 6 diapers, 3 pairs of pants, 2 shirts, and the cat litter
  • emptied the trash and recycling
  • swept and mopped my kitchen floor
  • vacuumed my family room, living room and dining room
I am now sitting here, listening to the incredibly quiet whir of my dryer...which I can only tell is running because the towels are still wet enough to be doing that little thumpy sound as they whip around in circles.

I am so incedibly glad to have my new machines...they rock.

I found that FarmWife had discovered a 30 Day Marriage Challenge, which I am taking. To catch you up, this is a Biblically based challenge. Each day, we will focus on one new behavior, so that at the end of 30 days, your marriage will be enriched, your attitude will hopefully be changed, and your spouse will be happier and more blessed.

Challenges
  • Day 1 - To not say anything negative about your spouse. Not to your spouse, or to anyone else about your spouse.
  • Day 2 - Praise your spouse for their willingness to serve others.
This is a little tougher than I imagined it would be, and I'll admit it here. I have a hard time not thinking or saying negative things about people and situations when I'm frustrated. I then have a tendency to NOT see the good things that are done/said etc by said people...these first 2 days are difficult, but worth it so far.

Join the challenge and help keep each other accountable!
