The repairman came and went in less than an hour, having listened to, diagnosed, opened, repaired, cleaned, and closed my dryer, even returning it to it's previous position, complete with little area rug, and cat dish...all for only $109.95. Not bad, especially considering that he offered some really great advice about new units and their issues...like, for instance, the fact that he has done a heap of work (warranty-covered, but still) on the brand new L G models...and that the one that you would normally associate with a refrigerator (as in, the name means really cold air) is junk...and that the brand we were looking at is good as far as construction goes, but since they test in the warehouse, the external water valve doesn't always get emptied completely and often is broken upon delivery...
So now BB and I face this dilemma - DO WE :
- Continue on with the now perfectly functioning dryer we have and do research and save money for a new one when we really need to buy one?
- Buy a the ones we were looking at prior to today?
- Buy a model similar to what we have for half the cost, but still more efficient than those we currently own?
Now, if you ask me again in 5 minutes, I will most likely be agonizing about not taking delivery until the 20th...SIGH
In other news, Captain Chaos is now the proud wearer of cotton training pants, in the hopes that we can get him potty trained. I think it is just a matter of hanging around for the next 3 days and he'll get the hang of the whole "if I pee, I get wet. That sucks." concept and begin to tell me when he has to go...
Seriously, though, please pray for us over the next weeks as we work to removal of all disposable diapers from our lives...
I am so done with spending $24 every time I turn around for so-called training pants...they don't do jack. squat.
BB is at the neighbors' searching through a load of lumber they are giving him...
Tiny Princess is fighting a nap.
The dog is stinky and snoring...the cats are being cats...I have a ton of de-Christmasing to do around the house, and no motivation to do it.
I would rather sit on the couch, snuggle with my boy and watch Disney movies...
That being said, I will strive to have a more meaningful post next time around...
Hoping you and yours had a wonderful holiday season...even (gasp!) a Merry Christmas!
