I think it is because I am in "unpacking and settling in" mode. We arrived home safely, at about 2am, stumbled into the house, put the children in their beds, and tumbled into our own.
Sunday morning found us unpacking, sorting clothes to their appropriate rooms (I was able to come home with a suitcase full of CLEAN clothes), and put away toothbrushes and the like. We awoke around 8 with Tiny Princess, and Capt Chaos slept til 11. We went grocery shopping, and then to my folks to spend the day with Missionary Man and his family.
We had fun, we came home exhausted, and tumbled into bed.
Now, to backtrack...
We arrived safely in Oregon, to pouring rain, drove to the in-laws and started the settling in process, which was made difficult by the finishing of their kitchen, and the workers doing that.
We spent the first few days getting used to the cool damp of the area, the routine and the absolute quiet of the house.
We went to dinner a few times, spent time with Grandma, and visited some friends. We spent some time at the beach, visited the lighthouse, and then went to a botanic garden to view their 250,000 LED Christmas lights (pictures to be posted soon) display.
We had some issues with words said (as mentioned before), but all in all, it was a good trip.
We rested, ate some good food, laughed at the antics of our children, and enjoyed the time they spent with their grandparents.
We had a very light flight home, and are decompressing.
NOW...I have
- washed 3 loads of laundry left from before our trip
- swept, dusted, vacuumed, mopped, and cleaned everything (our house-sitters used our house a lot)
- spent time with my nephew
- made meatloaf
- made sourdough bread
- put up the tree and the inside decorations
- bake cookies
- write and print our holiday card
- address said cards to our list of recipients and mail them
- shop for the final gifts for family members
- wrap the gifts that need wrapping
- help BB put up lights
- iron BB's shirts
- do laundry
I will post pictures and recipes on my blog and Wha'Cha Got Cookin' as I can.
Toodles for now!

It is good to have you back. Say hello to Missionary Man and his family for us.
Oh, and just so you know, Grasshopper has been learning to write and he wants to mail you something.....if his mother will ever cross the border and get to the post office.
