Happy Places...

A fellow Mom and blogger talks often about finding her Happy Place...and today I'm sharing mine with you.

Recently I posted about my health issues and my visit to the "lady parts doctor" (thank you That 70s Show)...and I was able to disclose quite a bit in detail (sorry for any of you that were grossed out by that one)...

Now, before you get all creeped out, my Happy Place is not my doctor's office.

It is, however, right where I am.

You see, Cleaning Lady came today, with 2 new employees. They were here a total of 100 minutes. Yup, that's right. It took only slightly longer than one and one-half hours to clean my large, very dirty house this week. They loved on my babies, my dog, and my cats. My house is now shiny, clean, smells fresh.

The children are nestled all snug in their beds, and visions of ocean waves crashing on the Pacific Northwestern shoreline are dancing in my head.

You see, the packing is about 98% complete. The house is clean. The cash for travel is in my wallet. The refrigerator is cleaned out. The trash is emptied, and all the recycling is dumped into our snazzy new Single Stream Recycling bin. The mail is stopped. The paper is stopped. The milk is stopped. I am going to log off in a few minutes, and unplug myself from technology for a few days (I should manage to last until Monday at any rate). I have been having massive headaches the last days, my stomach has been upset, and I've been feeling exhausted. Not just tired, flat out, sleep on the couch while the kids play on the floor exhausted. I will then go upstairs, finish the 2% of packing, move the carseats out of the truck, and ready them for the car, along with the stroller. I will then go into my bathroom, and in the comfort of my own clean, shiny, good-smelling bathroom, utilize feminine hygiene products.

Huzzah! The hormones worked...I treated myself to a Peppermint Twist Mocha this morning...and Carl's Jr. for lunch.

My Happy Place this time around is that all systems appear to be go for the most part...no wonky skin issues (thank Goodness! you'd think by my age I'd stop having period acne). The headaches are a bit concerning, but I'm chalking it up to the first cycle in almost 2 years...

My Happy Place was the line at Starbucks this morning when the barista said "You look gorgeous in that color, and I love your lip gloss!"

My Happy Place was the 2 new girls going ga-ga over the new Mary Kay Minerals products, and being so excited when I sent them home with samples and catalogs, and got promises of calls and orders from them. It was the barista oohing over the Microdermabrasion sample that I gave her this morining as a Thank You (being handed out before she complimented me), and getting her name and number to contact her for a facial and makeover.

My Happy Place is knowing that I can go to bed at 8 with the kids tonight so I can wake up at 4 tomorrow morning and be refreshed, not exhausted from running around the night before a trip...

SIGH...my Happy Place is knowing that tomorrow I can have Dutch Bros. coffee instead of Starbucks...heaven awaits, and it's place is in Oregon!
