Well, Rats!

Sometimes I wish that I could freeze time where it is...you know, like in Heroes, or one of those other shows where they have some sneaky device that lets time slow down all around you...that way, I could actually get the things done that need doing (so we don't go naked or hungry, or both!), and still have oodles of time to sit around playing train with Captain Chaos, reading stories, and even better, snuggling my babies to sleep in the rocking chair...

Today, even though we're still feeling puny, BB went to the office (which is an entirely separate post altogether), and the kids and I stayed home, and attempted to get things done.

Here is what I was supposed to do:

  • Change sheets on all beds, wash, fold, and put away "old" sheets
  • Scrub all 3 bathrooms
  • Clean the kitchen
  • Dust the house
  • Vacuum/mop/sweep floors
  • Finish laundry (or at least get the stuff falling out of the laundry hampers washed, dried, folded and put away
  • Iron BB's work shirts
Here is what I actually did:

  • Drove to the bank to deposit a reimbursement check from our HOA for expenses
  • Wandered through Target and bought clothes off the clearance rack simply because they were cheap, resulting in the need to go back and return over half of the items I purchased as they don't fit me (too big)
  • Met BB for lunch with the kids
  • Came home and put kids down for naps
  • Sat down on the couch to rest for a few minutes, and woke up 2 hours later
Needless to say, the laundry is unfinished...the ironing is not started, my floors are covered in dust and pet hair, the bathrooms may not be completely disgusting, but they aren't shiny clean either...the sheets on the kids' beds were changed out of necessity only as they both had leaky diapers last night, and their blankets and sheets were soaked...but they are still in the overflowing laundry hamper in the hallway outside their rooms...

OY! All I know is that I am not going to bed anytime soon tonight...*SIGH*
