Winter Wonderland

We awoke Saturday morning to snow! Big, Fat, Fluffy flakes falling gently to blanket everything...it had been fairly warm the night before, so the trees had those nifty icy tips that make them sparkle, and seem coated in diamonds...it snowed all day on and off...and got worse around lunch to completely "on" snowing. By 2 pm we had about 4 inches, and BB shoveled, got ready to take me to Church to sing, and before we left, which was about 20 minutes AFTER he finished, we had another inch on the driveway.

By the time we got home from Church and our neighbor girl's figure skating Holiday Show, we had a total of 5 more inches...BB shoveled again so I'd be able to get out for Sunday services...and before bed at 9:30 there was about half an inch again...

Sunday morning, we had total of 3 more inches on the ground and BB forbid me going anywhere...apparently pregnant ladies shouldn't be walking around on snowy, icy surfaces when they are 6 weeks from a baby being born...go figure! Actually, it was a very good thing, as it snowed for about another 3 hours, leaving us with a total of right around a foot, give or take...The sky cleared, and it was a gorgeous, sparkly afternoon, and the snow just was blinding...it was cold enough that nothing melted, and I'm sitting here now, in the quiet, listening to the spin cycle on my washing machine, and the occasional "whoosh, thud" of snow sliding off the roof, as the sun warms up, and the temp reaches a whopping 40 degrees today...

I forgot to mention that Saturday, on the way to church at 3 in the afternoon, it was 17 degrees. Fahrenheit. It was COLD!!!!! but is was SO beautiful, how can you not enjoy it? Besides, I was only outside for minutes at a time, and was not stuck somewhere, or trapped in my car on the highway.

We put up our Christmas tree, and got it all decorated, and Captain Chaos comes down the stairs, saying "Down" and when catches sight of it, just goes "OOHHHHH!!!!" the rest of the way down the stairs, which now takes 3 minutes because he is so enamored of the lights...it is TOO CUTE!

I'm in the process of uploading photos today, and will have some posted soon...I hope...

Please, no falling on the ice! I've fallen while pregnant with all 4 of my kids, but never on the ice (go figure). I only do that when I'm alone & walking through the parking lot at the grocery.

I'm glad you like the snow. The only time I've really enjoyed it since reaching "adulthood" was the one good snow we got at LCC. I remember having a snow ball fight outside the girls' dorm with Andy Bob, Shawn, and other random boys. It wasn't really cold, but it was fun.
